About us
Nomad began the way many great ideas do, around the dinner table. Born from a shared vision, we set out to create a welcoming space where the community can learn, grow, and connect through the arts.

Our mission is to develop and showcase diverse works, especially the stories that often go unheard or unseen and original works by local artists. What sets us apart is our commitment to making a home for local artists in Michiana, regardless of where we land.
Nomad Theatre is about storytelling that moves, literally and emotionally. We create theatre that travels with you.
Starting a company is always a leap of faith, putting a show on its feet is risky enough. But we believe the risk is worth it to create a space where local artists feel seen, respected, and inspired.
We’re committed to telling stories that reflect the diversity within our community, its people, its struggles, its joy, and speak to the issues that shape our world today. We imagine a space without the chaos of a “hell week,” where communication, mutual respect, and ongoing learning guide the process.
A theatre utopia? Maybe. We know perfection isn’t possible; we’re all human. But we can try, learn, and try again.

The Board of Directors
Liv Lianez - President
“Do we have time for coffee?” - She brings a lot of something…we aren’t sure what but if you need plans made, and event managed, or an excel sheet created, she’s your man.

Derrick Null - Vice President
“There will be lights” - Our designer extraordinaire, Derrick Null is a jack of all trades, master of many. Lighting, Scenic and Sound design, director, to name a few, and occasionally the voice of King Triton. Derrick has been working as a director and designer in Michiana for too many years.

April Sellers - Treasurer
“I’ll be there in 10!” - Resident queen of improv, April has been an actor and director in Michiana for sixteen years. April is a teaching artist, who has most recently worked at DePaul Academy through Shakespeare at Notre Dame, and her directing style reflects this approach. Young actors who have worked with her say “I’ve never had a director make me do more weird acting exercises. 10/10.”

Matt Anderson - Secretary
“Ok, first of all…*drums fingers together like Mr. Burns* ” - Matt, sound impresario, Spreadsheet master, Manager of stages, DnD aficionado, need we say more. Matt works in Michiana as a sound designer/audio engineer for concerts, broadway shows, and more.
